Really enjoyed your podcast. Johnny Sokko is very underappreciated. Great hearing someone else with fond memories of the series. This series touched me as a kid and is one of the reasons I began writing.

Torchwood aired tonight in the UK, given that Starz put up the bulk of the cash then it was only right they got global first run rights. Alas TW even with decent figures seemed to be one of the shows the BBC were willing to cast adrift claiming the cap on license fee increase was crippling them. When you only have £4 Billion to spend it's hard to make ends meet.

Personally I love the "b" movie or scifi Saturday flicks they are a cornerstone of the channel and a call back to the pulp scifi. They also get decent viewing figures for the investment and maybe like wrestling those profits help to fund the more expensive scripted shows on the channel.

I'm glad you liked it! Jason wanted to do something and he was all inspired to do something like that.

I was suprised by it as well as I don't think I could have done something as good myself and with Episode 2 now up and the mid week video on what's up and coming I'm sure it will outgrow my site very soon!

Derek, I was listening to this episode (again) and thought I would give a recommendation or several. I like the darker stories no sparkly vampires for me. I do love Stephen King horror and some of Dean Koontz as well. Some of these are horror I guess but .... anything by Simon R. Green is worth a read, (Something from the Nightside is my favorite), Charlie Huston writes wonderfully dark stories, my favorite is Already Dead. Richard K. Morgan writes harder stuff - I like Broken Angels. I just finished a book by Rob Thurman (Nightlife) and I've been trying to get my kids to read it because although it started off a bit slowly it is a wonderful book. Of course I love Jim Butcher's Dresden books (sort of fantasy mysteries) and Stephen Kings Gunslinger is one I've listened to over and over. Jon Randolph Bryce writes post-apocalyptic stories (the type I usually avoid at all costs) but his are really interesting and an easy read. I have many more harder Sci Fi but.... LOL I also love mysteries and I'm a rabid fan of several authors. :) But that is for another podcast.
